  • Designed to stretch the mesh and fix it to the frame mechanically.
  • Structure made up of 4 equal metal parts independent of one another. Each of these parts is placed respectively on each side of the frame, surrounding its entire perimeter.
  • The machine must be operated manually by turning the handwheel to stretch the mesh towards the outside of the frame.
  • Mechanical stretching allows you to stretch the entire surface of the mesh simultaneously and uniformly. It will then simplify the process of attaching the mesh to the frame, where you can use fast-drying, solvent-resistant adhesives.
  • Easy to install, use and carry.
  • You can use wooden or metal frames like the ones you will find in Related Products.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • If you combine this machine with another of the same type, you will have 8 parts ready to stretch the mesh, 2 per side. This will enable you to stretch meshes on frames up to 1.20 x 1.20 m
  • For better accuracy, we recommend using a screen printing tension meter that measures the tension of the mesh in newton-metres (N·m). The tension meter must be calibrated or adjusted according to the screen (mesh count, quality, material, etc.)
  • We do not recommend using staples to attach the mesh to the frame when stretching mechanically. High tension may cause tearing when piercing the fabric with staples.

  • The clamps hold the bars and keep them in equilibrium, at equal height from the base.
  • Each bar has 2 platens used to hold the mesh. They must be placed inside the clamps, above and below the mesh like a sandwich. The lower bar is fixed, while the other can be removed. The part of the bar that touches the mesh is made of corrugated rubber for a better grip.
  • The adjustment knobs close the platen and keep the mesh inside the clamps while stretching the screen. They have a pressure-resistant conical washer at the lower end, which prevents damage to the surface in contact with the bolt (upper bar).
  • The base serves as a support and is perpendicular to the bars. It has two slots through which the clamp that holds the bars will slide. Sliding it forward or backwards will help adjust the structure to the frame. When stretching, the frame is placed between the bars and a metal plate that works as a stopper.
  • The stretching handwheel allows you to move the bar with clamps back and forth through the slots in the base. The handwheel rotates and moves along a metal bolt. This bolt has 3 lock washers to prevent any damage due to pressure. The washers remain between the base and the handle when they reach the stop.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The box includes 4 basic metal parts that make up the structure of the machine:

ASSEMBLING EACH PART OF THE MACHINE

  • Place the bars on the base. The central adjustment bolt must be positioned in the centre of the bars.
  • Fix the bars to the central clamp by adjusting the washers and the nuts with a 14 wrench.
  • Place the plastic handle on the stretching handwheel and fix it with the nut.

HOW TO USE THE SCREEN STRETCHING MACHINE FOR SCREEN PRINTING FRAMES?

  • Place the parts of the machine on a flat surface suitable for this task.
  • The frame that you’re using must have a thickness no greater than 5.5 cm and a maximum outer diameter of 60 x 60 cm
  • The size of the mesh must be larger than the size of the frame, at least 10 cm per side.
  • On each side of the frame, place one of the 4 parts of the machine.
  • Insert the frame into each of the bases. The front must be facing up as it is the side where we must attach the mesh. The frame profile should be placed over the base slots, between the plate acting as a stopper and the bars.
  • Sandwich the mesh between the bars. Tighten the bolts so that the mesh is securely held by the bars. Make sure that each bar holds the same amount of mesh.
  • Turn the handwheels until you reach the tension you’re looking for.
  • Apply a layer of adhesive on the mesh and the frame, following the adhesive’s instructions.
  • Wait for the adhesive to set completely, then remove the parts of the machine.
  • Trim off the excess mesh.
