How to sublimate on used DTF film

1. Prepare your design

  • Print on sublimation paper. Add cut marks if you plan to use a plotter afterwards.
    • 💡 Tip: use small designs, such as labels, plaques, or signage. The material already has an interesting texture thanks to the previous DTF.

2. Place the film on the press

  • Place the film with the non-printed side facing up, as this is the side that will accept the sublimation. Position the design on top, cover with protective paper, and press.
  • Indicative Parameters: 200°C | 50 seconds | Medium pressure
    • 💡 Remember: Conduct a test beforehand. Depending on the type of DTF film you use, these values may vary.

3. Cut your design

  • Once sublimated, you can cut with scissors or a cutter. If you used cut marks, simply load the film into your plotter and start the job. The result: labels ready to apply.

How to apply sublimated labels?

  • With a tagging gun: Ideal if you are going to place tags inside t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, backpacks, or any textile garment.
  • With a cord, as in hanging tags. If your tag has a small hole or a die-cut shape, you can add a decorative cord, thread, or string.
  • As part of the packaging, your sublimated tags can also be the finishing touch in a well-presented package. Add them to bags, boxes, or wrappings to convey brand image. Print personalised messages such as “Thank you for your purchase” or “Handmade for you”.
