More information about the Murakami screen printing emulsion

  • You must apply a thin layer on both sides of the mesh
  • It makes it easy to print designs on the screen
  • It leaves the mesh soft and smooth for the next personalisation with screen printing ink
  • Easy to reclaim with screen printing emulsion remover. You will find it in Related Products (Ref. 012373)

AQUASOL No. 2 (Ref. 045284)

  • Presensitised single-component photopolymer emulsion with excellent water resistance
  • Suitable for textile applications with water-based inks
  • Ready-to-use, it can be applied directly onto the screen
  • Includes 3 g container with diazo salts to increase durability if desired. Its use is optional
  • In the case of using diazo: (1) use 10% of the emulsion volume, (2) dissolve it in water, (3) mix it with the emulsion and (4) let it stabilise
  • Suitable for manual machines and automatic carousels

ONEPOT C2 (Ref. 045285)

  • Ready-to-use presensitised single-component photopolymer emulsion. No diazo required
  • Suitable for solvent-based inks, plastisol inks and UV inks
  • Highly sensitive, even to white light, and faster exposure
  • Excellent solvent resistance
  • High-density emulsion
  • Very long shelf life. The emulsion holds after several months in storage
  • Suitable for use with manual machines and automatic carousels

SP-9500 (Ref. 045286)

  • Bisensitised monomer dual diazo emulsion with 2 components: emulsion and diazo sensitiser
  • Suitable for solvent-based, UV and water-based inks
  • Before using the emulsion, it must be mixed with diazo powder. Included is 1 tub of 3 g, for 1 kg of emulsion
  • Preparation of the mixture: (1) dilute 3 g diazo in 100 ml water; (2) add to the emulsion and stir until integrated; and (3) allow to stabilise
  • Excellent resistance to solvents
  • Lasts up to 2 weeks after mixing with diazo
  • Low thickness

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • We recommend filtering the mixed emulsion with screen mesh before putting it on the squeegee to coat the screen. This will help you prevent pinholes and fisheyes
  • We recommend cleaning the screen and the working area so that the coating is thin and uniform. Any dust particles could leave pinholes in the design
  • The emulsion layer must be the right thickness. If it’s too thick, it will come out blurred. If it’s too thin, the print will be jagged
  • Apply in a dark and closed place. You can use a red or yellow light bulb to see the process
  • Store in a cool place away from UV light

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Wash and remove grease and any foreign contaminants with a degreaser
  • When using SP-9500 emulsion, mix with diazo before applying it to the mesh
  • Before use, stir the emulsion and leave it to stabilise for a day. Filter the emulsion with a 250T mesh to prevent fisheyes or air bubbles if you plan on using it immediately. When using Aquasol, leave to stabilise for 1 hour or until the bubbles disappear
  • Slowly coat the screen with a squeegee to avoid air bubbles. When using SP-9500 and One Pot C2, dry the emulsion at 40ºC before placing the pattern
  • Dry the screen in a warm room, but don’t use high temperatures to preserve the emulsion’s quality and stability
